The Iris Meditation Pod transforms the modern office environment by creating a freestanding, womb-shaped chamber that integrates sound, lighting, aromatherapy and vibro-acoustic flooring to help users achieve a restful alpha brain state in under 12 minutes.
Designed by OpenSeed and Fuseproject, the pod is built for workplace, hotel and healthcare settings and features felt-lined walls for sound insulation, a touch-screen interface for guided meditations and recycled-wood structure components that reflect sustainable material use. The gently curved shell and warm wood finishes offer a refined presence within open-plan interiors while providing visual separation from busy surroundings.
The modular design ships flat and assembles on-site to minimise logistics and footprint. The material palette prioritises natural felt, wood and recycled components to reduce environmental impact, and the system is configurable for custom finishes, corporate branding and additional wellness modules such as red-light therapy. The project positions itself as a new typology for employee recharge, turning a meeting break into a curated moment of calm.
