WaveAerospace, a Connecticut company that specializes in the manufacture of heavy-duty drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and airborne craft for a variety of applications ranging from law enforcement to industrial services, has developed a hybrid drone that is capable of offering mind-boggling speeds even in the most inclement of climactic conditions.
The 'Huntress II Turbojet' us a hulking hybrid drone that measures in at four meters diagonally and weighs in at a hefty 50 kg. Capable of hauling up to 165 kg, this particular drone is said to be able to attain speeds of Mach 0.4, which equates to 483 km/h. This drone's whereabouts can be livestreamed to pilots who can control the craft from within a radius of 30 km.
Capable of operating in extreme temperatures and heavy winds, this hybrid drone could have a range of applications including search and rescue, reconnaissance and other high-stakes operations.
