Oceanco has revealed a 377 ft megayacht concept based on designs of Hawaiian canoes used by Polynesian people. The project is called Tuhura, which reflects the Maori language for exploring and discovering. Fellow collaborator, Igor Lobanov of Lobanov design studio, spoke of the megayacht, saying: "The thought was to take a natural shape similar to those seen in the earliest canoe-type craft and augment it on a larger scale, using modern technology."
The interior design features East Asian elements, particularly on the floors, walls, and ceilings. The standout feature is the hull, which takes the form of a canoe, allowing for low resistance and high maneuverability. The facilities in the megayacht include a 360-degree cinema room, a foredeck hammock, and a spa pool on the sundeck. Additionally, the megayacht is powered by a hybrid, contra-rotating Azipod system. The megayacht was unveiled at the Dubai International Boat Show.
