Atsushi Shindo Designs the Warm HAORI Light Series

The HAORI Light series by Atsushi Shindo is a captivating series that evokes a warm illuminating ambiance. It boasts a conical structure that is inspired by the traditional Japanese kimono, otherwise known as the Haori. The lampshade stands independently and the light it shines out comes from the curved surface.

The studio worked to capture the essence of his first time wearing a Japanese Haori and was influenced by the wrapping of self-concept. The light's shades can be changed and altered, functioning similarly to clothing on a person. The construction highlights aluminum with perforated details which is done purposefully to evoke a soft light. Cowhide Kobe leather is applied to add a warm and calm sensation.
