Muuto's Updated Fiber Chair Family Features Recycled Plastic

When Muuto's Fiber Chair Family was introduced in 2014, it shared an innovative approach to making seating solutions, and now Muuto is introducing the next generation made with recycled materials. The first iterations of the chairs introduced shells made of plastic and wood fibers and now, the updated Fiber Armchair and Side Chair designs are smooth, matte and made from a combination of recycled plastic that uses a minimum of 80% recycled material and FSC-certified wood fibers.

By repurposing the post-industrial waste from eyewear manufacturers, Muuto delivers furniture pieces that are as strong and as durable as the original designs, all the while offering more value in terms of sustainability. By implementing recycled materials in its seating solutions, Muuto anticipates that it will save more than 50 tons of virgin plastic in 2022 alone.
