Walki's Pouch Concept Supports Controlled Tearing & Reduces Breaking

Walki created an easy-open snack pouch concept to address two problems with many snack pouch packages: one, they can be tough to open and two, if snackers apply excessive force, they may inadvertently cause breakage, resulting in spills and loss of product. Walki's solution takes the form of a pouch made with a laminate of an MDO-PE film and a new developed LDPE- based film, plus a starting place for opening the snack pouch with less effort and more ease. As Walki describes, "By weakening the laminate in a controlled way, the material is thin enough to allow for a controlled opening of the pouch but still thick enough to protect the snacks inside."

With its easy-open pouch concept, Walki sees a better way for all sorts of snacks to be packaged, including everything from coated nuts and chocolate to dried fruits.
