Open Facade Architecture

3XN is Set to Build an Addition to the Malardalen University

Architecture firm 3XN will be building an add-on to the already existing Malardalen University in Sweden. The new design hopes to encourage interaction from students on a more relaxed level, and features open spaces for collaboration.

On the lower levels, the building has open and closed sections along the base, allowing for a sufficient airflow to come through. Moreover, this helps with the natural light shining through into the building, which should aid students in allowing them to concentrate while studying. The finished building will be 18,250 square meters in total, which is a significant size for an add-on to the university.
