All the hip-hop heads out there know that today is the anniversary of Biggie Smalls aka the Notorious B.I.G.‘s death. The late, great MC was gunned down on this day in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. The case remains unsolved to this day.

Since Biggie’s unfortunate death, hip-hop has become even more prominent in the music world. It was once considered a simple fad, but is more powerful today than it’s ever been. The perception of MCs has switched from having society viewing them as thugs and gangsters to business-savvy men and women. If Biggie was still alive today, there’s no telling what he would’ve done to expand his empire and legacy.
