I come from a galaxy far far away, where people actually grow on trees. The climate was so great the past few centuries, that my planet, Doiuyjvpeoriuypevo, became way over-crowded. I was sent on a pumpkin-shaped spaceship to this solar system, mainly because the music sounded so good from out there. I landed on a place between heaven and hell, called Greece, where I was raised and now reside with many fellow aliens.

So, I am Alex, and I am an alien – thank you Bianca for motivating me to get this out of my chest :-)

What is unique that's not in your bio?
I would think that admitting being an alien would sum up most of my weirdness… I am a mechanical engineer and always captivated by cars and technology; I love the outdoors, both the sea and the mountains; sports is my passion, especially sailing, skiing and trekking, but have gone through football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, rafting, kick-boxing, gliding… and recently hunting – I expect more to come; I get carried away with traveling and with music and movies; I greatly appreciate challenges, adventure and humor; I love my family and friends.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Remaining my positive self and always finding more ways to develop and improve.
How do you define cool?
Cool is the thought-provoking, exciting, striking, inspiring, bold, alluring, or witty – and hopefully as many of these fused together as possible. It is people's unique thoughts and wild imagination; it is what stirs up the neurons and cause them to ignite; it is what makes you really wanna tell.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
I guess it is insatiable curiosity that drives me. I vigorously and rather chaotically surf the net clicking on every link that grabs my attention; trend hunting truly sums it up for me. Each of my own clicks is an indication of what someone else may also find interesting; if only I could make it more fascinating, if only I could make it stand out even more.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
The grand variety, the boundless imagination, the inspiring innovation, the positive and electrifying atmosphere that comes with these, and last but definitely not least the inviting community of like-minded vibrant people from all around the world.
What is your favorite trend?
I could never have a favorite something; the next new thing always captivates my attention. I am more fascinated, though, by technology, autos yachts and transportation in general, design, architecture, eco and gadgets. I am impressed by the real, spellbound by concepts, and magnetized by colors.
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
I have very little experience, but I would say: some facts, a couple of uniquely but gently twisted details, sprays of humor, as many illustrations possible for eye-fueling, positive attitude throughout, and a killer title. I do hope to learn much more than this amateur potion-like formula, though.
How do you reset to be creative?
Being innately curious about an endless list of things drives me towards creativity. I always seek a balance between my indoor and outdoor activities, which I vary daily from trend hunting, reading books and watching movies to meeting friends, driving, and going sailing. I am thus continually struck by different thoughts, sights and emotions, which probably means that my mind is constantly on reset.
What inspires or excites you?
Breakthrough ideas, novel perspectives, challenges, honest humor, imagination and dreams, excitement itself, strong emotions, nature, people, activities, action… I am also inspired by the words of magnificent people, such as Salvador Dali who once mentioned “I am in a constant state of intellectual erection” – breathtaking!
Predict something awesome for 2020?
It is rather a wish: exploitation of the immense capabilities of the internet and new interactive technologies to the benefit of all people and every person, to battle and triumph against environmental devastation, political corruption, business and economy infection, and social decay. (I really do not mean to sound like a V for Ventetta manifesto) Also a trip around the world, personal wings and gills, an exotic beach house fully connected and next to a tropical mountain, a hybrid car-plane-submarine (to share the ride with friends and family)… ok I will give some of these until 2030 but that is it.
