The mean green electric two seater charges from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, its two in-wheel motors produce 320 horsepower. It goes a top speed of 156 mph, and could be yours as soon as next year.
ZAP (Zero Air Pollution) is working with Lotus Engineering on the Alias, which is not only faster than the Porsche Boxster it’s half the price.
ZAP chief executive Steve Schneider said: "Everyone who has seen the Alias says they want to buy one.
"We have worked with Lotus Engineering during the initial phase of the development project and shall again be looking forward to their support."
The two-seater Alias has a range of more than 100 miles before it needs to be recharged, and its two engines generate 322 horse power - as much as a £60,000 Porsche 911 Carrera.
