Frank Ocean surprised fans by dropping a visual album entitled 'Endless' as part of the precursor to the release of his 'Boys Don't Cry' album. The suspense around the reentry of Frank Ocean into the music forefront started to build with him appearing in a Calvin Klein campaign and then again on Kanye West's album 'Life of Pablo.'
Recently, rumors had been going around that Frank Ocean would be releasing new work to follow up on his 'Channel Orange' album, which was released four years ago. The singer finally gave his fans something new to talk about with the release of the gritty black and white visual album, which is available on Apple Music and contains 12 tracks.
Visual albums and surprise releases have become a new manner for artists to build hype around themselves. Just a few months ago Beyonce also released her visual album, Lemonade, which created a media frenzy across the globe.
