Perhaps designers are holding back the frills for the 2010 Pre-Fall lines to really stun when it’s time for the actual Fall collections to show. Whatever the reason, it’s not to say that collections like the Vera Wang 2010 Pre-Fall line-up aren’t great (they are), they are just noticeably more… humdrum.

The Vera Wang 2010 Pre-Fall collection takes on a tailored aesthetic with styles that tell a likely story: a girl goes to work, then heads to the after-party with only a few minor adjustments needed. Despite its overall mild tone, there were some accents worthy of note: beaded shoulder panels, fur patchwork detail, sheer inserts, and a few sequined-out numbers. Just enough to give a working girl some after-dark edge.
