Vegas was a style hub last week, with three major expos during the Las Vegas Fashion Trade Show. Major fashion editors, trend forecasters and fashion buyers showed up for the twice annual event to see what goodies the spring ‘08 collections had in store. Just as we’d anticipated, eco-chic was the most common trend popping across the majority of collections.

Pool was the trade show for the best up-and-coming designers—some major talent we at Trend Hunter are keeping our fashion-savvy eyes on. The Magic Marketplace was focused on mass market fashions while Project showcased luxury goods and designer labels.

At Pool, the focus was on eco-chic, with all eyes focused on labels like S(eco)nd, Linda Loudermilk, Ryann, Manimal, the sisters at Velvet Leaf, and Canadian designer, Nicole Bridger. Another emerging designer, Idol Radec released their “fashletic” line, infusing cutting edge fashion into their athletic wear.

Project shed new light on already favourite designers. The menswear lines at EubiQ NY brought sophisticated to streetwear, while preppy infused the looks at Distilled and Covet kept their focus on sustainable unisex fashions.

The designers at Social Atelier launched their “socially active” lifestyle brand. “The début ‘Think Future’ line features limited edition, organic cotton t-shirts adorned with ‘awareness messaging’ addressing global social,” IG Trend Central reported. “A percentage of proceeds from each season go towards non-profit organizations aligned with social and environmental causes.”
