If your twitter account has millions of followers, a Twitter hack attack could be the most frightening thing ever; the new Twitter authentication feature assures businesses and celebrities that their accounts will be safe.
The newly launched feature makes sure that whoever is logging into your account is really you. It involves a 2-factor process; a six-digit code will be sent to the Twitter user's phone in addition to typing in a password.
This verification step is similar to Google's and Facebook's. It's completely optional. If you enable the feature, you will need to verify your mobile phone number and email address.
Twitter felt the urge to implement this after bad incidents of hacks on Twitter accounts. Celebrities and small businesses will benefit from this feature.
