Beverly Hills 90210 might on its way back, but Tory Spelling won’t be joining.  Over the last few weeks, the retro comeback has been generating a bit of buzz, especially since several past characters are cast to return.

Tori Spelling has been allegedly trying to negotiate the same salary as co-star Shannen Doherty ($35,000-50,000 per show)... However, rumors suggest that she was offered nearly a third as much.  Accordingly, she has rejected the deal.

With a full cast of returning characters, the show would be a novel concept, and perhaps one of the more interesting innovations in TV.  However, if only one or two characters make it back, then it’s just an attempt to leverage the brand.

Jennie Garth, also cast for the show, noted, “I’m really bummed because I love Tori, and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show.” Garth believes that Spelling should, “Definitely get paid as much as [herself] and co-star Shannen Doherty.”

Perhaps Spelling isn’t as interested in the whole retro nostalgia trend.  Besides, she’s busy running her celebrity bed and breakfast…

Word is that the other women are receiving $35,000-50,000 per episode whereas Spelling can only cash in on a measly $10,000-20,000 per episode. Spelling originally accepted The CW's offer in May to reprise her role as Donna Martin, who would now be the owner of one of the hippest shopping destinations frequented by the new, youthful cast.
