NYU grad students Rucha Patwardhan and Alina Balean have developed a new prototype called the 'Smart Hoodie,' which sends a text response free of phones. Perhaps grabbing a phone and actually typing a message is too much of a hassle especially while you're in class, at the dinner table or out with friends. There are definitely some cases in life where people will need your undivided attention and you simply don't have the opportunity to text.

Armed with a GSM chip and an Arduino board, the hoodie can recognize your gestures such as rolling up your sleeves or putting on your hood, enabling your movements to translate into texts. The Smart Hoodie is mostly used for texting for help in case of an emergency.
