Instagram's status update feature known as Notes will be a more prominent tool for users as the app will be moving this to user profiles. Prior to this, Notes have only been seen from the app's Inbox. This change is to push the visibility of the feature and allow users to interact with their friends from a new place.
The app is also experimenting with other tools including 'prompts' for the Notes. This will encourage users to share questions for their friends so that they can answer in their own updates -- this functions similarly to the 'add yours' template available to add to the Stories. The Notes are also only available to view for 24 hours and only visible to mutual followers.
