Ever-popular audio platform SoundCloud has pulled together a beautifully shot, mini-video documentary simply titled Sound by SoundCloud. The three and a half minute short explores the relevance of sound in a modern context, and encourages viewers to drop the filter built up to the ambient and "non-essential" sounds in everyday life.

The film includes contributions from music notables such as producer Moby, British singer/songwriter/performer Imogen Heap, Human League and Heaven 17 founder member and producer Martyn Ware, as well as a selection of sound academics and what SoundCloud calls "sonic thinkers."

Already just shy of 100,000 views on Vimeo since going live a few days ago, Sound by SoundCloud is worth watching, if only to remind yourself to listen a little harder when out and about, and not to let all this good stuff pass you by. Stats for Telling Tone Videos Trending: Older & Chilly
