While many consumers are used to seeing ice cream products made with milk from cows, or even non-dairy ingredients, the use of sheep milk as a base is less common. Hailing from Lutjebroek in The Netherlands is Schapenstreek farm, which now produces its own brand of organic sheep's milk ice cream called Moois. When broken down, this name is a clever blend of terms and sounds that is a play on words like "beautiful," "female sheep" and "ice cream."

While alternative milk sources have not totally caught on as a replacement for cow's milk in products like butter, cream or yogurt, this ice cream has the potential to have the same level of popularity of something like goat cheese.
