Hollywood star Sharon Stone defies the society’s expectations of older women and their hypocritical stance regarding female nipples in the media by celebrating being 50 years old with a topless feature on the cover of Paris Match.
Never one to shy away from sexuality (who could forget the iconic ‘Basic Instinct’ scene?), Sharon Stone boldly says on the cover, “I am 50, so what!?” The images were taken by Alix Malka.
We recently showcased ‘Nipple Non Grata,’ a project that examines the issue of female nipples in the media. And the Janet Jackson ‘Nipplegate’ fiasco is still fresh in our memory, so I applaud Sharon Stone for bringing this hot social issue to the mainstream. Maybe soon we won’t have to censor nipples in such artistic images here in Trend Hunter as well…
