Production agency Rewind worked with Holiday Auto to create this unique vending machine, which provides consumers with a bottle that is filled with fresh scents of summer. The idea is to provide grumpy commuters with memory-connected scents of summer in order to induce happy feelings.
The vending machine is paired with a real-time television screen that encourages users to tweet their thoughts and aroma preferences. Once a tweet is sent to Holiday Auto’s account, the vending machine will allow the person who tweeted it to select their preferred, bottled scent.
The machine is filled with scented water bottles and includes aromas like freshly cut grass, oceanic water and even unexpected ones like barbecue. When consumers inhale the memory-related scents, they are more likely to feel happy, productive and positive. In order to rid commuters of the blues, this vending machine targets one of the most evocative human senses, smell.
