With a renovation design by Synthesis Design + Architecture, the Pushkinsky Cinema has been transformed into a completely new venue that is both dramatic yet elegant.

An interesting open air lattice, inspired by a "Russian veil," covers the exterior of the Pushkinsky Cinema. This viewl is made of thermo-formed paneled sheets of DuPont Corian; the panels, according to Evolo, work to gently transform the pattern of the exterior into a "varied matrix of warped hexagon modules."

Further, these interesting hexagonal modules create a "moire effect" -- as you move through the building, you see the hexagonal shapes turning from opaque to transparent and back. It is this play of light and shadow that makes the renovation of the Pushkinsky Cinema so innovative and peculiar at the same time. Stats for Warped Hexagon Facades Trending: Older & Average
