At the 2009 SEMA Show, attendees got a sneak peek of some of the top designs to pass the initial phase of the Progressive Automotive X Prize competition. This contest is the ultimate in eco auto design—the fastest car to pass a rigorous testing phase will win a $10 million prize—and has brought out some of the best and brightest minds.

In the gallery above, you’ll see some of my photos of the 2009 entrants for the Progressive Automotive X Prize. All designs must be based on actual production cars and must be feasible to produce—no science projects in this gallery!
