Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 Show Goes From Dark to Light

Transformation seemed to be the basis for the Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 show, which kicked off with dark, moody pieces, but then gradually became colorful, light and radiant.

The Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 show, aptly titled ‘Uncursed,’ started off with all-black ensembles, ranging from capes and militaristic hats to dresses with mesh inserts and velvet panels. Subsequently, the show began displaying hints of color with iridescent turquoise and fuchsia accents, and then large jolts of vivid, electric blue on satin skirts and sweaters. This vibrant blue was then mixed with swirling, digital prints in a soft sky hue, which adorned structured dresses, A-line skirts and pantsuits. The collection then progressed into white gowns and frocks with ostrich feather skirts, finishing with all-over gold ensembles and heavy embroidery.
