In an effort to get more consumers eating its pre-packaged meals, Starbucks is offering a new $8 Power Lunch deal. While the meal does not include any coffee, it does provide consumers with enough food to power them through a busy afternoon.

The $8 Power Lunch deal is a limited-time promotion that allows consumer to build their own mid-day meal. To begin with, customers can choose a salad, sandwich or bistro box from the chain's existing lineup of pre-packaged options. Customers can then choose a bag of pretzels, popcorn or chips. As far as fruit, customers must decide between a banana or a That's It fruit bar. The meal is then rounded out with a bottle of Ethos water. The entire meal is available for just $8, which amounts to a savings of about $3 or $4, depending on which items the customer chooses.

With more consumers turning to quick-service restaurants for their mid-day meal, the lunch combo is sure to appeal to those who eat on the run.
