The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is Born to Run

Volkswagen has just unleashed the Polo R WRC onto the public. The German car company created the special edition hatchback as a way of celebrating its participation in the 2013 World Rally Championship. The Polo R WRC sports a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 220 horsepower; the Polo GTI puts out 180 horsepower. Those numbers are good enough for a 0 to 62 time of 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph.
In addition to a beefier engine, the Polo R WRC sports an aerodynamic body kit and 18-inch wheels. The interior has also been redone, with highlights including an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and aluminum pedals. Only 2,500 of these Polos will be made. Each one will be priced at $43,000. Oh, and these bad boys are only being released in Germany.
