PickupPal is a really cool service that extends from online to real life connections where people can help each other out. You benefit from it by either getting a cheap ride, or getting paid to drive others somewhere.

PickupPal is “A global eco-friendly transportation revolution that connects drivers, passengers, and packages with the places they need to go.”

Better than a cab company, it’s much more affordable and you have the added bonus of making a potential friend. It’s also a world-wide service for real people, not organizations or companies.

The site, which is free to join, offers two options:

“Pickup Request” which matches you with someone who’s requested a driver in your area at the designated time.

“Pal Driver” gets you money from others who big on rides with you. Just pick up people that are on your way any way, and make money in process, and potentially a new companion (or future boyfriend!)
