This infographic by 'Nuance' examines consumer behavior in terms of application downloads. According to this chart, 70% of mobile users have over 10 apps, while 60% of those surveyed download approximately five new apps a month.

So what exactly are people downloading apps for? The data collected indicates that customer service applications are very popular, especially for services, such as mobile carriers, banks and retailers. Customer service is a huge component to a company's success, hence it is important for firms to offer user-friendly and easy-to-use apps that actually work.

Although many people are downloading these applications, not everyone is actually using them. For example, out of the 60% of users who download mobile carrier apps, only 25% actually utilize it. This is pertinent information for companies, as it is important to be aware of who is using its applications, and if not, why.
