Methinks Betsey Johnson went to the farm and devoured too many magic mushrooms. A combo of vintage, avant-garde, Farmer Jane, and Pirates of Penzance might describe the Spring 2009 collection she debuted at New York Fashion Week.

But these eccentric looks don’t always make the transition from catwalk to sidewalk, so Betsey just went the other way. But what exactly is the opposite of sidewalk?
