Mythical storytelling has been a part of human culture for thousands of years. Now, some modern companies have implemented the use of their own modern mythical stories to sell fashion. This is the case for the company Daydream Nation and their ‘Good Night Deer’ Autumn/Winter (A/W) 2008 clothing collection. Apparel in the A/W 2008 ‘Good Night Deer’ collection was made from modern and vintage fashions. In the Daydream Nation catalog story, designs in the pages are showcased along with a myth about man and deer. Sometimes off-the-wall fashions are used, but the ones actually in the collection include the catalog number. ‘Good Night Deer’ by Daydream Nation is, in my opinion, a wonderful and unique form of entertainment. Not just for the short myth told throughout its pages, but for its eye catching fashion photography.  To be inspired by legends and create new myths�
Our belief in life in objects has led us to design garments inspired and adapted from vintage clothing that contains stories and memories. Our garments are devised through play and manipulation with old clothes. Through play we create new myths for the clothes each season, resulting in visual catwalk narratives.
