Fashion Designers as Saints - Kevin Ledo's Portraits (GALLERY)
|
Montreal-based artist Kevin Ledo uses images of world famous fashion icons such as Dior, Calvin Klein, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Prada and Louis Vuitton to draw parallels between modern fashion and Christian art from European medieval times.
Coolhunting notes Ledo does this by, “transposing methods of religious paintings into an advertising context”.
Ledo’s paintings have been on display in Taiwan and Canada.
This work is from Ledo’s latest work. This is acrylic and metal foil on panel. From top then clockwise.
1. Saint Calvin Klein of New York
2. Saint Dior of Paris.
3. Saint Jean-Paul Gaultier of Paris
4. Saint Prada of Milan
5. The burden of Saint Vuitton
