This Year's Festival Focuses on Music From Persia

The Middle Eastern Music Festival is an annual festival that brings together artists from the Gulf countries and the Middle East as well as the Balkan and Mediterranean regions. These accomplished artists mingle with music students from around the world who are looking to learn and experience the great musical traditions of these areas.

This year's edition focuses on Persian music and features an array of legendary names from the Persian school of music, in addition to the Middle Eastern Fusion Festival Band, the Berklee World Strings, the Plenenitsa Balkan Choir and other special guests. For just $12 a pop, this festival offers -- organized in the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, great value to those interested in exploring the music of the Middle East.
