The McLaren 50 12C Celebrates the Automakers 50th Birthday

The McLaren 50 12C is a celebratory supercar created to celebrate the automaker's 50th birthday. The special model is based off of the MP4-12C and is available in both hardtop and spider variants. Only 50 models of each variant will be made, hence the name '50 12C.' Aside from its unique name, the McLaren 50 12C has a few other features that set it apart from the production MP4-12C.

The 50 12C was customized by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). The MSO modifications could fill a laundry list, but a few of the standout additions include a carbon-kevlar front floor, carbon-ceramic brakes, a complete leather interior and branded floor masts. It doesn't appear as if any engine modifications have been made, although the lightweight materials added should boost performance. The McLaren 50 12C is selling for $296,000 for the hardtop and $325,000 for the spider.
