Margaux Jones is the creative spirit behind LightMiner lamps and candle screens. Jones originated a completely new way of putting images onto acrylic panels that are then assembled into their final forms. The Seattle-based artist creates the art for her designs and on occasion uses plants and flowers or photographs as a basis for the lamp panels. For those who love DIY, HGTV.com has Margaux’s ‘how to’ instructions for crafting image panels and making a candle screen using her techniques.  After about six months of trial and error, we perfected a process to take my artwork and turn it into a translucent panel, using 1/8” or 1/4”-thick acrylic as the base. Rich with color, texture and a three-dimensional quality, we discovered something that until we did it, was never done before! Our process uses modern technology combined with traditional methods, however we do not use any screen printing, transfers, or transparencies.
