Patrick Vale's Jazz-Infused Manhattan Skyline Video

By: Shelby Lee Walsh - Published: • References: http & vimeo
A lover of the big Apple and a talented illustrator, Patrick Vale is sure to be a favorite among NYC residents with his real-time Manhattan skyline video. Drawn from the perspective of sitting atop the Empire State Building (one of the world's most iconic and recognizable pieces of architecture), Vale's piece is chock full of detail and it's all caught on film.

The timelapse video shows the project from beginning to completion, which took several days. Punctuating the marker strokes is the song "Moanin'" by Charles Mingus. The tune seemingly harkens back to the good ol' roaring twenties where Manhattan was full of beat poets, jazz joints and illegal liquor.

Partrick Vale captures the architecture and essence of the world's most talked about city in less than two minutes -- not a small feat. Stats for Real-Time Metropolis Timelapses Trending: Older & Warm
