Make Your Own Shoes From Scratch

Mary Wales Loomis decided to hack apart a pair of shoes to find out how they were made. To her surprise the construction seemed very straightforward and simple and from that day forward Mary started making her own shoes from scratch.
She has created a website to share her wealth of information so that you too can make your own shoes from scratch!
I tore some shoes apart with a hammer, pliers, and screwdriver. After inspecting the parts, I realized I could duplicate them and make a pair of shoes. i experimented with different ideas until I finally came up with a good method. I have given many demonstrations of my shoemaking to clubs and on TV. Now that I am on the Internet, I get orders from all over the world. In addition to individual orders, I sell to theater groups, recreation centers, libraries, and schools.
