The Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver hosted the Angelic Pretty Tea Party. This lavish affair was created to educate guests about the fashion and lifestyle associated with the Lolita subculture.

This style of Japanese culture heavily influences self expression in the fashion world. Prior to the event, guests were distributed guidelines on specific attire that would be acceptable for the elegant get-together. The dress code reflected the theme of Lolita culture -- encouraging outfits that celebrated self expression and authenticity. This fashion aspect combined individual styling with conservative yet creative undertones.

As guests learned about the Lolita culture, they were able to indulge in a menu that consisted of traditional tea party items. This included tea, coffee, macaroons and miniature sandwiches. Essentially, this lunch and learn party educated visitors about a niche subculture through hands-on experimentation and a themed dress code.
