The Krumb app combines ephemeral social media with map applications. The Belgian startup lets you attach stories and messages to locations, which are only visible when you are physically at that place.

Users can choose how long their post will last -- an hour, a day or forever. This lets others on the Krumb app to see local tips, memories with your friends, hidden gems nearby, historical facts and even geotagged promotional content. The name of the venture is likely inspired by Hansel and Gretel, and the trail of crumbs they left behind.

The smartphone application, therefore, has a wide range of uses, from travel and exploration to social advertising. The mobile social platform offers lots of local advertising opportunities as well as mobile marketing.
