Architectural designer Julia van Beuningen adds a spiral staircase made from plywood materials in a thatched barn located in Gelderland, the Netherlands. It is now a residence space with the new transformation of the building, naming it the Barn at the Ahof. It functions as a rental home with four bedrooms and a large open-plan living space.

Van Beuningen tells Dezeen that "We thought, if we're going to do something, we have to do it properly. This is very different and very unusual in a barn like this. It's something you either love or hate, but it's definitely a statement."
