Sesame Street's side project Sesame Workshop recently launched an investment program focusing on funding start-ups in the childhood development sector, entitled Sesame Ventures. The program features a team that will work closely with investors to offer the funding these start-ups need in order to get their mission off the ground. The start-ups will focus on improving childhood education in a variety of sections from food to media.

The program is an ideal balance of monetary and mentoring support from larger brands already in the industry that start-ups can lean on for support as they grow. The program is aimed at businesses focused on improving youth in family development, health and wellness and even emotional development. The program has a budget of $10 million thanks to a fund dubbed the Collab+Sesame Fund.
