Levi's Rolls out Hybrid Polybags as a Sustainable Packaging

Levi's is looking to work towards a more sustainable future with its new hybrid polybags that keep its denim clean for users whilst taking care of the earth. Once the bags have served their purpose, they can be composted in the comfort of consumers' homes or at the nearest recycling center instead of being discarded at a landfill. The hybrid bags are made with 23%-25% bio-based materials that also help with reducing fossil fuel consumption.
This idea came into fruition as Levi's was to work together with Fashion for Good, which is a global organization that is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for clothing. The brand's Chief Sustainability OFficer Jeffery Hogue notes, “This project not only moves us toward achieving our goal of eliminating single-use plastic, but it also puts into practice the industry collaboration required to solve these ubiquitous industry challenges.” Currently, the polybags are not a permanent shift but it is an experiment that rolls out for the next 6 months in the US and Sri Lanka.
