Now you can get tiny RFID chips that you can sprinkle jsut about anywhere.  They can be embedded on currency or maybe even digested.

We may soon be sprinkling RFID chips like pixie dust in a few years because Hitachi has developed a tiny new type of RFID chip measuring 0.05 x 0.05 mm. Hitachi used semiconductor miniaturization technology and electron beams to write data on the chip substrates and they have a 128-bit ROM for storing a unique 38-digit ID number. Chips this small can be even more easily imbedded into paper currency, certificates, and identification. Hitachi hopes to market these power-like chips in 2 to 3 years. (gearlog)
