No matter what kind of music you listen to, your neck takes a real beating at a concert. Stevie Wonder: side to side; metal: violent up and down; country: thrust chin forward. So in addition to ear plugs, Dr. Andrew McIntosh is recommending that concertgoers wear a neck brace. I’m guessing he probably would recommend it for headbanging musicians too. Expect to see this hit the stages, oh, let’s say never.

The study showed that an average headbanging song with a tempo of 146 beats a minute is likely to cause mild injury if the head’s range of motion is greater than 75 degrees. (tech.blorge)
