The GravityLight is a device that is intended to replace kerosene lamps in the developing world. This contraption uses a weight that drives a gear-train, generating electricity from the resulting kinetic energy. While the device isn't new, recent upgrades have made it even more convenient to use.

The upgraded GravityLight features a new pulley system that was incorporated to make it easy for users of different heights and strength levels to lift the weight ring up. It also makes it possible for the light to stay on even when the weight is being lifted, something that wasn't previously the case.

With these and other upgrades, the GravityLight will make it easier than ever for people in the developing world to enjoy inexpensive lighting that's easy to use.
