Gently Used by Ryan McNamara is currently the new art installation at the Mary Boone Gallery in Uptown Manhattan. Gently Used features mannequin arms, legs, props and recycled costumes from his previous performances. Pieces date back as far as 2008 and give new life to the once thrown away pieces.

The lighting, timed impeccably to cast shadows and shade on particular areas, is aimed to deny a sightseer from getting the best Instagram photo. McNamara says the presentation will be over before you get your phone out. The Gently Used by Ryan McNamara art installation is meant to create a Fantasia-style performance. One can find slightly tilted chairs wrapped in candy colored fabrics as an example of Ryan McNamara's Disney inspiration. The exhibit is curated by Piper Marshall, a long time friend of the artist.
