The GanDan Bench has been designed by ChenYu, ShinChi, BoCheng and JieYi as a seating solution that achieves a naturalistic aesthetic that draw inspiration from an unlikely source.
Inspired by a silkworm cocoon, the bench is formed with wood veneer that has been wrapped and enlaced together using the Bunch method. The interior of the bench is filled with foam to fill the void and offer a touch of undulation when used as a seating solution.
The GanDan Bench maintains a handcrafted design that is finished with a set of four wooden legs that are each wrapped with rope at the top for added visual appeal. The naturalistic design of the bench makes it appear almost creature-like and looks as though it might walk away when no one's looking.
