Italian artist Emanuele Dascanio takes still-life paintings to the next level with these incredibly realistic fruit paintings. This collection of paintings feature ordinary fruits and vegetables with a plain black background.

Upon glancing at these images, the human eye assumes that each of them are photographs. Impressively however, Dascanio is able paint minute, delicate details that bring these paintings to life.

The amount of detail in each of the pieces makes the paintings seem as though the subjects were zoomed in on with a camera. This technique lets viewers see the hyperrealistic textural qualities of each item he paints.

Another technique used in the collection is painting the fruits and vegetables in half-light with subtle shadows and reflections. This creates an effect as if the subjects are being photographed, when in fact, it is achieved with the stroke of a brush.
