These floating monstrosities may look like something out of Waterworld, but they’re actually much more interesting. Brooklyn artist Swoon (whose real name is Caledonia “Callie” Curry) made this floating artist community entirely out of New York City trash. Then, she set sail around the world, and adventurous artists have been joining her on her journey ever since.

The floating artist community has made it down the Mississippi, and even to Venice. The mobile ability of this floating artist community could be sending this makeshift recycled artistic utopia your way.

Set against the backdrop of a contemporary city skyline, this ramshackle collection of recycled parts looks as much like a half-sunk pirate ship of pile of floating debris as it does a functional floating hobo-style hodgepodge home. (dornob)

I wish I lived on a pile of garbage (if you weren't a leaf's fan, now is where you'd make some sort of joke about Toronto)...

With the amount of plastic floating around on the oceans, they could turn this community into a city by the time they return to Brooklyn.
