Amsterdam-based fashion brand Scotch & Soda teamed up with Plastic Whale to create a special fishing boat for World Environment Day. Made from recycled plastic waste collected from canals in Amsterdam, the fishing boat helps to clean up the world's waterways and simultaneously brings attention to the global plastic pollution problem.
Officially dubbed The Free Spirit of Amsterdam, the plastic fishing boat makes the most of PET bottles that are washed and then processed into granules and fibers. The custom-made boat features Scotch & Soda's brand colors (tan, charcoal and cloud white) and it has a deck that's made from roughly 900 black plastic bottle caps. The spacious boat is powered by an electric motor and has the capacity to carry up to eight people.
