Ever wonder what’s going on tonight in your city? Music lovers rejoice, the Gigotron iPhone application has arrived, and she is a beauty! Simple, elegant controls allow you to navigate easily through the sea of live music and comedy that is taking place all around you. Here’s how it works. Search music (and comedic acts) by bios, genres and even pics and let the iPhone do the rest. Using its geo-locating technology, this blissful application will show you exactly where the music is happening that night in your city. Wait, what’s that? You don’t know how to get to that club or rock hall? Worry not—this puppy, of course comes loaded with directions to the various venues from your current location on this big spinning orb. Amazing, huh? But I still wish I could somehow tell my friends about our plans… Yeah, they thought of that too. Gigotron is ripe with social connectivity functionality that allows you to stay connected with your friends and invite them along for the evening. I would say the only drawback at this point is its limited geographical coverage. With only NYC, LA and SF show listings currently, this app is limited to those metropolitan areas, so hotspots like Austin, Boston and Seattle get no love at the moment—yet.
